The Bureau of Community and Health Systems (BCHS) is responsible for the regulation and certification of facilities, agencies and programs in Michigan including, but not limited to, Qualified Interpreter Program for certification of American Sign Language (ASL) qualified interpreters for the deaf, deafblind and hard of hearing defined by the Deaf Interpreters Act and the Qualified Interpreter General Rules. This position will provide assistance to the Qualified Interpreter Program and support for special assignments, studies and projects related to the student’s career or curriculum goals. This position will assist with Qualified Interpreter Program activities that includes, but not limited to, researching other states’ policies and procedures, national interpreter standards, draft rules, various state laws, and related data. The position will also assist in various administrative support activities when needed.
This position is limited to no more than 129 hours per month.
