    Wayne State University is searching for an experienced Director, Career Services at its Detroit campus location.

    Essential functions (job duties):

    Job Description:
    Develops, builds and supports relationships between the MISB, our students, key alumni, and critical employers within the state, regional, national, and international levels. Increases the placement rate and annual salary offers for our students, expands support for our graduate students as well as undergraduates, participates in Executive Committee leadership.

    Working with a strategic plan and annual placement targets and goals, develop corporate/employer relationship strategies that expand employer involvement with the MISB School and recruitment opportunities for our students for internship and full-time positions.

    Leads, motivates, develops and supervises an Associate Director, a team of full-time career counselors, and support staff. Assess performance, coaches and provides effective performance feedback.

    Closely coordinates communication with external constituents, deans, department chairs and other faculty to ensure that the career office is meeting the needs of the academic departments.

    Provides career advising expertise to students and alumni regarding the job-search process, interviewing, resume writing and all other facets of career planning. Conducts career fairs, workshops, seminars and other presentations to students, faculty, employers and alumni groups.

    With data analytics expertise, leads a best practices strategy for excellence in the optimal career placement for MISB students. Maintains placement data to track both internship and full-time positions for Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) and other reporting purposes. Also, reviews and annually updates all career office publications and brochures.

    Performs other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications:

    Desirable education and experience:

    Master’s degree in a discipline related to staffing, employment, career development, and planning or other human resource concentration. Candidates with an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

    Experience
    A minimum of five (5) or more years of Fortune 500 corporate recruitment management experience or equivalent and ten (10) years minimum experience is preferred.
