Assistant Director of Information Technology jobs in Sunland Park, NM

ASD is looking for a Junior Level Information Technology Specialist to provide IT support to the DPW in Ft. Bliss, TX on our D3i contract. In this role, the Information Technology Specialist will provide Helpdesk and Network support, perform technical trend analysis from available data sources (Remedy, etc.) to identify performance metrics that will enhance operational performance, collaborate with team members to identify issue trends, and suggest long-term strategies to help mitigate incoming issues. The right candidate MUST have a SECRET Security Clearance and Security CE Certification.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provide Helpdesk support to include system software and hardware installs, modifications, and troubleshooting, end-user support via telephone calls, voice mails, e-mails, and in-person requests for hardware, software, networking, other information system-related technologies, and end-user technical assistance and training.
• Troubleshoot, resolve, integrate, test, and maintain operating systems environments such as, but not limited to MS Windows, MS Office Suite, MS Outlook, etc. architecture, data backup, and recovery.
• Analyze and evaluate incident reports and make recommendations.
• Write and edit technical materials (e.g., user manuals, reports, documents, and deliverables).
• Assist project teams in collecting and organizing information.
• Review work and resolve discrepancies according to strict standards and guidelines. Analyze, design, and develop new Information Technology (IT) requirements, prepare specifications for IT equipment acquisitions, and modify IT hardware and/or software as necessary to meet specialized user needs.
• Conduct site surveys to assess and document current site IT/network configuration and user requirements.
• Prepare implementation plans and site installation technical design packages.
• Prepare configuration change drawings and documentation for each information system and/or network.
• Assist in the development of Risk Management Framework documentation and assist in maintaining the Authorization to Operate information systems and applications.
• Prepare site installation and test reports.
• Coordinate installation operations and maintenance support. This may include the application of multiple engineering disciplines to IT and business modeling, analyses, specification development, hardware and software planning/implementation/modification/ coding, scheduling, configuration changes, and test reports for information systems, messaging, and telecommunications systems.
• Perform network and information system installation efforts.
• Perform information systems administration, network administration, and user support functions.
