Assistant Project Engineer jobs in Riverside, CA

ASSISTANT PROJECT ENGINEER DUTIES (Perris, CA & San Jacinto, CA):

Submittals

• Assist in creating submittal list based on specs and drawings
• Assist with reaching out to subcontractors and vendors for required submittals
• Every material we use needs a submittal
• Update Submittal Logs
• Archive in Procore
• Ensure Foreman has updated submittals (Electronically or Hardcopy)

RFI’s

• Create in Procore
• Assist in submitting to Owner/CM/Engineer
• Update response in Procore
• Notify PM of scope changes for PHC or Subs

Change Orders

• Change Order spreadsheet
• Work with PM to Price out Change Orders as required.
• Issue COR to owner
• Work with documents team to enter change order in the system

Schedules

• Work with PM to get schedules from Subs to include in baseline schedules
• Assist with 3 Week Look Ahead
• Confirm all required materials are on site for the items being performed here
• Review schedule with Foreman/Super

Order Materials

• Assist with ensuring material is on-site prior to needing it
• Coordinate lead times
• Assist with coordinating with site Foreman to ensure all take off and field measurements are completed to order material.
• Price out for lowest cost on items not in Purchase Orders.

Job Meetings

• Attend
• Be Prepared with Schedule, etc.

Coordination with Subs

• Schedule
• Manpower
• RFIs/Submittals

Pictures

• Take pictures at site visits
• Archive pics in Picture folder (PROCORE)

Apprentice

• Provide foreman with updated Apprentice Hours every 2 weeks.

Job Set Up

• Call Dig Alert and go to site to mark out area.
• Set up Temp Facilities (toilet, trailer, bin, etc.)
• Set up Procore through Documents Team
• Send out Letters of Intent to all vendors and subcontractors
• Create Subcontract/ Purchase Order log and request from documents team.
• Request Survey or set up survey required to start job
• Submit all items required prior to Pre-Construction Meeting
• Set up meeting with Estimators to hand over project
• Set up meeting with selected Foreman to explain job
• Price out Equipment required and set up lowest price
• Fill out OSHA form for job
• Ensure all training required to be on site is complete (Archeology, Environmental, Cultural)

Qualifications:

• 4-year bachelor’s degree in engineering
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Teams)
• Driver’s License/Ability to travel between office and project jobsites
• Competence with Civil3D and Procore is preferred but not required

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $24.00 - $30.89 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
