Consults with, advises, and provides direction to teachers with respect to problems of classroom management, control, and attendance; 2. Conducts in-service meetings, evaluates teaching performance, and appraises teacher growth as assigned by the building principal with a specific focus on assisting the junior high staff; 3. Assumes the responsibility, as assigned by the building principal, for seeing that substitute teachers are properly assigned and that favorable conditions for substitute teachers continue to exist; 4. Promotes and maintains high standards of conduct among the pupils of the school by demonstrating a high degree of cooperation with school counselors, teachers, and pupils; 5. Acts as liaison with the Juvenile Court in connection with referrals of pupils as assigned by the building principal; 6. Handles all phases of student discipline, while advising the principal concerning disciplinary matters of a serious nature; 7. Provides supervision and responsibility for all problems, referrals, and accounting procedures for student attendance; Enforces compulsory attendance laws. Works effectively with the Attendance Officer. Checks on excessive absence through phone calls and parental contacts and/or conferences; 8. Provides general supervision of the building and grounds including restrooms, halls, bus loading areas, cafeterias, and other areas often frequented by groups of pupils; 9. Assisted with commencement exercises as assigned by the building principal; 10. Assumes overall responsibility for the supervision and direction of disciplinary procedures; 11. Assumes the responsibility for supervising the assignment and use of parking facilities by staff and students when directed to do so by the building principal; 12.Assists with the development of the master schedule and student scheduling when directed to do so by the building principal; 13.Assumes responsibility for inventories, distribution, and ordering of all textbooks and supplemental books; 14.Arranges for storage, distribution, and collection of keys to all buildings in the High School complex; 15.Serves as acting principal in the absence of the building principal; 16.Assists in the handling of other duties as assigned by the building principal.
