Assistant Treasurer jobs in Ann Arbor, MI
Assistant Treasurer assists in the direction and management of an organization's treasury activities. Oversees and directs all aspects of daily treasury activities. Being an Assistant Treasurer ensures financial transactions, policies, and procedures fulfill the organization's objectives, needs, and regulatory body requirements. Assists with the corporate banking, credit, and investment functions. Additionally, Assistant Treasurer requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to senior management. The Assistant Treasurer manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. To be an Assistant Treasurer typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function. - Strong computer /software experience
- Experience interacting with outside auditors, insurance companies, and financial institutions
- Experience with corporate business insurances, employee benefits, and profit-sharing plans
- Cash Management experience.
- Background in the automotive /manufacturing industries
- An extremely strong work ethic

- Coordinates the financial planning, budgeting, and investment activities.
- Provides financial analysis with an emphasis on capital investments, pricing decisions,and contract negotiations.
- Oversees the preparation of periodic financial statements, activity reports, financial forecasts, and annual budgets.
- Cash management for the company.
- Ensures that reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP.)
- Responsible forrisk management and loss prevention programs including property and casualty insurance, general liability insurance, workers compensation, customs and tariffs, and cash management.
- Reviews financial details from past, present, and forecasted operations; identifies development opportunities and improvements that can be made.
- Provides management with short- and long-term financial objectives and policies.
- Conducts monthly business review meeting with Senior Management, reports to board of directors semi- annually and has significant interaction with Executive Leadership.
- Collaborates with external auditors to provide information needed for the annual audit.
- Maintains knowledge of organizational procedures, federal and state regulations, and accounting standards.
- Responsible for annual inventory.
- Performs other related duties or projects as assigned.
