Assistant Treasurer assists in the direction and management of an organization's treasury activities. Oversees and directs all aspects of daily treasury activities. Being an Assistant Treasurer ensures financial transactions, policies, and procedures fulfill the organization's objectives, needs, and regulatory body requirements. Assists with the corporate banking, credit, and investment functions. Additionally, Assistant Treasurer requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to senior management. The Assistant Treasurer manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. To be an Assistant Treasurer typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function. Bridgestone Americas and its subsidiaries develop, manufacture and market a wide range of Bridgestone, Firestone and associate brand products to address the needs of a broad range of customers and industries.
Provide leadership, oversight and support in the various broad treasury activities:
Develop capital structure strategy and capital planning for Bridgestone Americas, developing strategic debt and financing plan for capital investments and M&A
Manage bank relationships and credit facilities to ensure adequate liquidity, including evaluating opportunities to improve financing flexibility and diversification of funding sources
Oversee the Company’s liquidity position, including strategy, planning and execution of borrowing strategies to enhance liquidity
Develop strategy relating to debt issuance, including revolver, green bonds/private placement, term loans, and sustainability linked funding strategies
Manage $1.1B U.S. commercial paper program and daily funding requirements
Lead corporate finance initiatives, including cash committee, cash flow and working capital optimization
Lead global treasury objective on working capital and cash conversion
Lead expansion of supply chain finance program
Evaluate, negotiate and maintain financing for international subsidiaries that fits with the identified capital structure objectives
Provide leadership on M&A transactions, including due diligence through integration
Support projects and analysis, including executive committee and Board recommendations and presentations
Lead monthly investment reviews for the defined benefit plan and defined contribution plan in the pension investment committee and pension steering committee
Lead strategy and execution of pension investments, including evaluation and recommendations on investment managers and asset allocations aligned with Bridgestone’s de-risking strategy
Bachelor’s degree in business administration, finance, accounting, or economics
MBA, CFA or Certified Treasury Professional are preferred
15 years experience at a Fortune 500 global multinational with relevant experience
Previous leadership experience of professionals
Capital planning, liquidity, debt & capital markets, funding, and pension investment experience is preferred
Excellent presentation and communication
Excellent ability needed to multi-task
