Collaborates and supports colleagues regarding research interests and co-curricular activities. Additionally, Assoc. Professor - Accounting typically reports to a department head. Requires a PhD or terminal degree appropriate to the field. Has considerable experience and is qualified to teach at undergraduate and graduate levels and conducts research and case studies in field of interest and may publish findings in trade journals or textbooks. Applicants from historically underrepresented groups, in particular ethnic, racial and gender groups are encouraged to become a candidate for the following position.POSITION & QUALIFICATIONS: Luther College seeks a Visiting Professor (open-rank) of Accounting, Management and Finance for a three-year term position to begin late August 2024. Preference will be given for candidates with a related professional certification such as a CPA or CMA, and/or a graduate degree in a related field (Master’s, Ph.D, D.B.A. or ABD). Applicants holding a bachelor’s degree and a minimum of five years of work/consulting and other professional experience in the areas of financial management, accounting and statistics will also be considered. Strong applicants from all fields will be considered, although preference will be given to candidates whose qualifications support successfully teaching financial management, accounting, and statistics courses. Upon hire, candidates are invited to participate in proposing curriculum, program modifications and teach courses in accordance with program needs. We seek candidates who demonstrate professional excellence and effectiveness in training/teaching and mentoring, with a commitment to creating equitable experiences for underrepresented communities. The Center for Learning and Teaching team and department colleagues provide mentorship and professional development for instructional strategies and technologies in residential (primary teaching modality), hybrid and online courses. The city is divided into four quadrants, used in addressing. 1st Avenue (U.S. Route 151 Business) divides the north and south sides of the city, and the Cedar River divides east and west. Mays Island, in the middle of the river, is the only area of the city where addresses have no quadrant. Areas outside the city limits that have a Cedar Rapids mailing address do not use the quadrants either.
