Assoc. Professor - Accounting teaches courses in the discipline area of accounting. Develops and designs curriculum plans to foster student learning, stimulate class discussions, and ensures student engagement. Being an Assoc. Professor - Accounting provides tutoring and academic counseling to students, maintains classes related records, and assesses student coursework. Collaborates and supports colleagues regarding research interests and co-curricular activities. Additionally, Assoc. Professor - Accounting typically reports to a department head. Requires a PhD or terminal degree appropriate to the field. Has considerable experience and is qualified to teach at undergraduate and graduate levels and conducts research and case studies in field of interest and may publish findings in trade journals or textbooks. Responsibilities:
- Prepare and maintain financial records and reports for clients
- Perform general accounting tasks, including recording financial transactions, reconciling bank statements, and managing accounts payable and receivable
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements and tax returns
- Conduct financial analysis and provide recommendations for improving financial performance
- Collaborate with clients to ensure compliance with accounting regulations and resolve any financial issues
- Utilize accounting software such as Xero and QuickBooks to manage financial data
Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting or a related field
- Strong knowledge of debits, credits, and basic accounting principles
- Experience in public accounting is preferred
- Familiarity with payroll processing and forecasting techniques
- Demonstrated financial acumen and ability to analyze complex financial data
- Knowledge of tax regulations and experience in tax preparation is a plus
- Understanding of wills, trusts, and estate law is beneficial
- Proficiency in financial accounting software
