The
New Jersey School of Architecture (NJSOA) of the J. Robert and Barbara A.
Hillier College of Architecture and Design (HCAD) at the New Jersey Institute
of Technology (NJIT) invites applications for a full-time tenure-track or
tenured appointment. We seek an
accomplished architect and educator, with a strong research agenda in the area
of building information modeling (BIM) to teach architectural design studios,
and lecture and/or seminar courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
Essential Functions:
Faculty
at the NJSOA (founded 1973) have been innovators in computer-based design and
analysis since 1986. Now, we are seeking
candidates with expertise in architectural design and construction within a
broad range of BIM applications, including parametric design, generative
modeling and environmental simulation; energy, daylighting, life safety and
life-cycle assessment (LCA). An understanding of emerging BIM methodologies
within an integrated/collaborative practice is essential.
Prerequisite Qualifications:
- Candidates
must hold a professional degree in architecture, as well as a professional
architectural license and/or Ph.D. degree in architecture or a related field.
- At
the university's discretion, the education and experience prerequisites may be
exempted where the candidate can demonstrate to the satisfaction of the
university, an equivalent combination of education and experience specifically
preparing the candidate for success in the position.
