Our Award Winning Client is seeking a Lead Technical Associate for their night shift (12 hours, 8pm-8am). This role reports directly to the Production Supervisor and provides crucial technical support, primarily mechanical, to production operations. Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead in a team environment, providing guidance and training to Technical Associates (TAs) and fellow associates on proper equipment setups and repairs.
- Collaborate with engineering and Manufacturing Technicians (MTs) to oversee the completion of required projects, utilizing available resources such as engineering, machine shop, production, and maintenance departments.
- Organize and manage improvement projects aimed at enhancing equipment utilization, in conjunction with the area engineer, production supervisor, and other necessary resources.
- Audit preventative maintenance (PM) procedures and activities of TAs and fellow associates, documenting PM audits electronically for corrective actions. Analyze equipment failures to modify/update PM work orders.
- Set up and debug equipment to documented specifications, coordinating deviations with the supervisor or Engineering as necessary. Maintain equipment to produce product within specified quality and quantity limits, performing adjustments, troubleshooting, cleaning, and repairs as needed.
- Maintain equipment logs for each piece of equipment, recording downtime and maintenance problems with clear and legible handwriting.
- Repair equipment and report major problems to the supervisor, coordinating maintenance activities with the Maintenance Department, Engineering, or other technical resources as needed.
- Perform preventative maintenance on equipment as specified in the PM program or as needed for smooth operation, tracking and auditing PMs to ensure completion in the SAP system.
- Monitor production machinery as needed to ensure top performance.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Support all upstream and downstream operations.
- Maintain toolbox and surrounding area neat and clean.
- Ensure cleanliness of equipment-surrounding areas during the shift.
- Perform other duties as required.
Job Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Associates Degree in Advanced Mechatronics Technology preferred.
- Previous leadership roles or supervisory experience required.
- Mechanical proficiency and experience required.
- Proficiency with basic hand tools.
- Knowledgeable of feeler gauges and other tools to measure tolerances, torque, and clearances.
- Completed coursework in relevant subjects required, or relevant experience may be substituted: Schematics, Basic Principles of Mechanics, Industrial Electricity, Problem Solving for Mechanical Applications, and Introduction to Industrial Technology.
- Minimum of 2 years in a Set-up or Technical Associate role, or equivalent.
- Familiarity with troubleshooting various equipment components including cams, cam-followers, rod-ends, bushings, chain drives, conveyors, gearboxes, vacuum systems, pneumatic systems, and ball-valves.
- Basic electrical knowledge and experience with PLCs and pneumatic systems preferred.
Work Environment:
- Our Award Winning Client is a smoke-free campus. Smoking, the use of electronic smoking devices, marijuana, or tobacco products are not allowed on Our Award Winning Client property, grounds, or in the parking areas.
- False eyelashes, press-on fingernails, and jewelry are not allowed on the production floor, including dermals. Associates with dermals will be required to cover them while working.
- Steel-toe, non-slip shoes are required for all associates while on the production floor for safety purposes.
