CobbFendley is seeking a Project Engineer in all our Texas office.
QUALIFICATIONS
The successful candidate’s most important qualifications include the following.
- Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering from an ABET-accredited college or university is required.
- Engineer-In-Training license preferred or obtain E.I.T. certificate within six months and plans to pursue Professional Licensure (P.E.).
- 2-7 years of relevant experience in civil engineering.
- Experience in hydrologic and hydraulic modeling utilizing HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, HY-8, SWMM, GeoPak drainage and Bentley ORD/DU softwares.
- Experience with TxDOT design standards and drainage manuals.
- Strong written/verbal skills

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Support on-going civil engineering projects involving storm water engineering, storm sewer/riverine studies and floodplain analysis.
- Provide technical support with the help of a team to produce hydrologic and hydraulic analyses and reports with knowledge of municipal and federal requirements.
- Use standard and advanced modeling techniques, theory, and practices in hydrology and hydraulics related disciplines.
- Project Engineer will interact with team members and the Client (internal and external) and must have good communication skills.
- Knowledge in the development of construction cost estimates, design plans, and specifications.
- Work with minimal supervision and deliver accurate work product that is error free.
- Adhere to CobbFendley’s safety standards to uphold a safe and efficient environment.
- Maintain a professional attitude and fulfill responsibilities with integrity.

ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS
- Most work is performed in a professional office environment. Some trips to client offices and job sites for observations will be required.
- Job site observations factors could include: walking and climbing on uneven surfaces, exposure to outdoor environments and extreme weather (heat and freezing temperatures), noise exposure, driving for extended periods of time, exposure to allergens (e.g., pollen, dust, cedar, sumac, poison ivy), exposure to construction and traffic work zones, possible hand and power tool use, and extended periods of Personal Protective Equipment use.
- Extended use of electronic devices (e.g., computers, printers, copiers, scanners, plotters, and telephones).
- Use of cutting tools and equipment (e.g., plotting equipment, rotary paper cutter).
EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM CST/local time zone.
This position may include the need for overtime hours.
