Lehighton Ambulance is looking for driven individuals interested in assisting their community in our non-emergent transport division.
The non-emergent transport division is responsible for transporting patient's via wheelchair and litter to and from doctors' appointments and assisting with emergency department overcrowding by transporting the patients from the hospital to their residence or next destination after their visit.
This position allows you to get your foot in the door at the largest ambulance organization in carbon county that is able to service the community in all aspects of the emergency and non-emergency system.
Once a part of the Lehighton ambulance family you have opportunities to advance your knowledge and skill base to become an EMT and even a paramedic, handling emergency situations on a daily basis.
Lehighton ambulance offers inhouse training and certification for the EMT pathway and offers scholarships for future Paramedics.
Details about the position as follows :
Safe and efficient transport of wheelchair and ambulatory patients
Operate a wheelchair van safely
Work independently or as part of a team
Assist patients in and out of wheelchair
Learn the functions and all safety devices on the wheelchairs and vehicles
Interact with patients, family, and hospital staff in a professional and respectful manner
Complete all run reports as required
Services Requirements :
Must be 18 years old
Must pass a drug screen
Pass a physical test
Must have a clean driving record
CPR shortly after hire
Experience in non-emergency transports (preferred but not required)
