Assistant Professor in Conservation Biology
JOB PURPOSE:
The Department of Zoology and Physiology in collaboration with the School of Computing at the University of Wyoming invites applications for a tenure-track position in Conservation Biology. The position is at the Assistant Professor rank at the University of Wyoming branch campus in Casper, Wyoming. We seek candidates who will involve undergraduate students in a field/laboratory-based research program using animals to address ecological and evolutionary questions with a conservation focus. We envision an independent researcher who will develop a strong, extramurally funded research program, and excel in a highly collaborative university setting through contributions to research, teaching, and outreach.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The successful candidate will use techniques and advances in data science and computer science and contribute to an interdisciplinary cluster within the School of Computing. We invite applications from candidates using modern techniques and advances in data science to study organismal biology. The successful candidate will be expected to develop a strong, extramurally funded research program. We seek a colleague who is committed to participating in the community through teaching, research, service, and student mentoring. The successful candidate will be expected to teach in undergraduate programs and encouraged to teach in graduate programs, and be committed to mentoring and fostering diversity.
