Job description
Circle Oak Rehabilitation is growing and looking to hire a Veterinary Assistant to join our Canine Rehabilitation Service
Vet assistants help with rehab modalities such as underwater treadmill, laser, NMES, and do therapeutic exercises with the dogs once trained. Other tasks include taking histories, stocking/cleaning rooms, medical records, etc. Excellent dog handling skills are required.
The hours are daytime, typically Monday-Friday, 8:30am-5pm. (Rotating Saturdays may be added in the future)
No on-call of after-hours work otherwise - we leave on time!
Experience:
- Knowledge of animal care and handling techniques is required (all sizes and breeds of dogs)
- Previous experience working in a veterinary clinic, animal care facility is preferred
- Familiarity with dog sporting events a plus
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately
Must be able to lift 25lbs and stand/sit on floor for long periods of time. Able to climb ladder, kneel, squat are essential for this position. Teamwork and communication are essential for this position.
