    Penn's Graduate School of Education seeks a highly motivated candidate for the Associate Director of Operations within the Office of Admissions & Financial Aid. This critical role oversees the entire application process and associated operations for the 40 degree and non-degree programs offered at the Graduate School of Education. The Associate Director has the primary responsibility for building, updating, and maintaining the Office's application system. Additionally, this role manages the accurate and timely coding of all admissions decisions, the communication of these decisions to applicants, and subsequent contact and follow-up with admitted students to ensure appropriate yield and student enrollment. The position reports to the Assistant Dean of Admissions and Financial Aid.

    Job Description

    Duties :
    Build, program, and continuously update GSE's admissions application system (Slate) for maximum operational efficiency while ensuring a user-friendly and intuitive experience for our applicants.
    Develop both the content and execution rules for a communication plan for applicants, admits, and deposited students which provides information at each stage of the process.
    Oversee the application process in its entirety, with great attention given to the Office's communication with applicants via phone, email, and in-person at all stages of the admissions funnel.
    Ensure that student applications are being processed and updated in a timely manner and resolve all application-related inquiries or issues.
    Troubleshoot technical issues that arise for any stakeholders. Collaborate directly both with GSE IT department to resolve more complicated technical issues within the system.
    Serve as direct supervisor of two (2) professionals. Meet regularly with each team member to set goals and ensure that performance expectations are met.
    Produce and maintain training guides and materials for staff to assist in both application processing and inquiry management.
    Attend recruitment fairs and conduct information sessions both domestically and internationally.
    Participate in and provide support to admissions team for on-campus recruitment events.

    Qualifications :
    Bachelor's degree is required and 3-5 years of admissions or related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Additional requirements:

    Team player who is adaptable, highly collaborative, and who enjoys solving time-sensitive, often technical, problems.
    Requires fastidious attention to details and strong analytical and technical skills
    Must have the ability to multitask and advance multiple high-priority projects simultaneously
    Excellent written and oral communication skills
    Event programming will frequently occur in the evening and/or weekends, so must be able to work some non-traditional hours
    Ability to travel domestically and/or internationally

    Preferred Qualifications:
    Master's degrees
    Prior experience using Technolution's Slate system
    Previous supervisory experience is a plus
