POSITION TITLE: Admissions Associate (Seasonal)
REPORTS TO: Visitor Services Manager
JOB SUMMARY: The Admissions Associate is responsible for selling admissions, membership, and other items and for providing visitor services and information in a positive and friendly manner.
HOURS OF WORK: 40 hours/week. This temporary position begins May 13th, 2024, and will end prior to September 20th, 2024. There is no work being offered for this temporary, seasonal role after September 20th, 2024.
GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
1. Greets visitors and provides information about the Aquarium.
2. Collects fees, operates computerized cash register, issues tickets, and sells memberships and related customer products including publications, wheelchairs and strollers.
3. Answers telephones, routes calls as appropriate, and provides general public information.
4. Participates in customer services and sales training programs for team members.
5. Identifies visitors with special needs and provides or requests appropriate assistance.
6. Assists in building evacuations in accordance with the crisis management plan as necessary and appropriate.
7. Processes payments that come in through the mail and online sales (online express)
8. Properly handles and logs lost and found items and routes them appropriately.
9. Completes all opening and closing procedures.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
KNOWLEDGES, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (Minimum levels)
High school equivalency required. Minimum of two years experience as a cashier. Experience working in a high-traffic visitor-oriented facility preferred. Experience using computers is also required.
