    Job Description
    The HEOP program is a $1.6 million sponsored program that serves the entire University. The associate director has substantial responsibility for this important program and considerable latitude in program implementation.

    Qualifications
    A Master’s Degree is required with a minimum of three years experience in counseling; one year in Higher Education and one year experience in some supervisory capacity.

    Job Specific Qualifications
    • Experience and qualifications in higher education, including counseling, advising, supervision, higher education administration, budgeting, and grant writing.
    • Previous experience working in compliance with federal, state and institutional guidelines.

    Responsibilities
    • Assist the Director in supervising and coordinating the operational functions of HEOP.
    • Assist in the identification, development and implementation of counseling procedures.
    • Assist in the training and supervision of professional staff as designated.
    • Manage the HEOP roster per semester in collaboration with the Offices of Admissions and Financial Aid.
    • Monitor admission process to ensure equitable access for the target student population.
    • Assist with the annual budget development process and reporting.
    • Assist with the New York State required reporting processes including the 5-year HEOP grant renewal.
    • Monitor students applications and participation in international programs (SU Abroad).
