Role Overview

The Associate Buyer role will be responsible for indirect purchasing, assisting in negotiating materials, services, equipment, and supplies. Your responsibilities will include ensuring the utilization of suitable vendors and focusing on processing, validating, and procuring materials and supplies by IMI policies and standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Confirm and create all purchase orders from manual requisitions or electronic requests for capital and emergency orders.
• Monitor and execute purchase orders and address discrepancies through manual or systematic processes.
• Enter item data into the JDE database and maintain it, tracking late orders and pushing for vendor efficiency.
• Process rush/overnight orders and collaborate with team members to source qualified service providers for building and operational needs.
• Support the suggestion program by submitting ideas for improvement and adhering to established company policies and procedures.
• Perform any additional duties as assigned.

Critical Competencies for Success

• A Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience of 1-3 years is preferred.
• 1-3 years of experience in supply chain management or material procurement is preferred.
• Strong critical thinking and analytical skills are a must-have.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.
• The candidate should have a track record of supplier identification and relationship development.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is required.
• Fluent in English – reading, writing, verbal.
