Associate Dean of Continuing Education assists Dean with the management of administrative functions of the college of continuing education. Collaborates with Dean on planning college strategic initiatives and supports on college fundraising. Being an Associate Dean of Continuing Education provides administrative leadership in areas of curriculum development, institutional assessment and improvement, human resource, faculty development and performance appraisals, budget and finance, and facilities planning and management. Typically requires an advanced degree. Additionally, Associate Dean of Continuing Education typically reports to a Dean. The Associate Dean of Continuing Education typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments.     What You'll Do:

    Provides oversight of the General Education curriculum and faculty. Leads student retention initiatives.

    General Education Curriculum• Manages the General Education curriculum of the BSN program through support for curriculum development, ensures systematic evaluation, continuous quality improvement activities, and collaborates with the Curriculum Committee in curriculum revisions.• Creates course schedules in accordance with the needs of the students, availability of the faculty, and campus capacity.

    General Education Faculty• Manages the recruitment, hiring, and development of the General Education faculty.• Provides leadership of General Education faculty to ensure appropriately rigorous, student-centered, and engaging instruction.• Creates faculty teaching schedules.• Supervises and conducts face-to-face and online classroom observations of the General Education faculty and supporting staff per ABHES requirements.• Initiates and leads faculty development initiatives, responds to faculty needs. • Ensures compliance with ABHES faculty development requirements.• Monitors instructional performance and provides timely, effective feedback per College policy.• Organizes General Education faculty meetings throughout the year.• Assures faculty personnel files are up-to-date and compliant with ABHES standards.• Develops and maintains effective supply acquisition process to assure maintenance of appropriate par levels of inventory for science lab supplies.

    Student Performance Monitoring and Reporting• Monitors academic performance of students enrolled in the General Education courses.• Monitors weekly the retention of students enrolled in the General Education courses; ensures that faculty report at-risk students, including development and completion of student success plans; ensures achievement of student retention goals. • Serves as a Student Success Coach with an assigned caseload of at-risk students and supports the administration of the Intrusive Advising Program.

    Academic Support• Collaborates with the Student Success Coordinator to puts in place learning resources for students.• Monitors student needs and satisfaction with academic services that support success in the General Education curriculum.• Collaborates with the BSN program manager to track student attendance to proactively intervene with at-risk students.

    New Student Onboarding and Orientation• Serves as the liaison to Ambassador, ensures that the appropriate textbook selections have been made by the deadline and that students receive their textbooks in a timely manner for their courses.• Collaborates with Admissions in organizing and delivering the New Student Orientation program.

    Committee Service• Serves on the General Education Committee and other committees.
