Associate Dean of Humanities assists Dean with the management of administrative functions of the college of humanities. Collaborates with Dean on planning college strategic initiatives and supports on college fundraising. Being an Associate Dean of Humanities provides administrative leadership in areas of curriculum development, institutional assessment and improvement, human resource, faculty development and performance appraisals, budget and finance, and facilities planning and management. Typically requires an advanced degree. Additionally, Associate Dean of Humanities typically reports to a Dean. The Associate Dean of Humanities typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments. Experience: University level teaching of IHUM 101 - Introduction to the Humanities, IHUM 201 - Western Humanities I: Antiquity to Renaissance, and IHUM 202 - Western Humanities 2: Renaissance to the Present.
Duties/Expectations: Class lectures and presentations on IHUM 101/201/202 course material. Administer quizzes and exams, consult and advise students, grade exams and papers.
Must reside in the State of Utah to be eligible for employment consideration. Must be willing to teach the course(s) in person, on campus.
