Associate Dean of Law assists Dean with the management of administrative functions of the college of law. Collaborates with Dean on planning college strategic initiatives and supports on college fundraising. Being an Associate Dean of Law provides administrative leadership in areas of curriculum development, institutional assessment and improvement, human resource, faculty development and performance appraisals, budget and finance, and facilities planning and management. Typically requires an advanced degree. Additionally, Associate Dean of Law typically reports to a Dean. The Associate Dean of Law typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments. To be an Associate Dean of Law typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience. We are a five attorney law firm with staff of 9, practicing in forty counties. We practice in Family Law, Criminal Defense (State and Federal),. J.D. and Iowa Bar entry are required. Pay range based on experience. Experience not required. Interest in Family Law and Trial Law are requirements. We are a very active, engaged law firm interested in people who want to meet, retain, and represent Iowans in Family Law and Criminal cases, with the opportunity to expand that practice. We are very teaching-oriented and so inexperience is not a bar to employment, but experience is welcome. Opportunities for CLE, expanded practice, mentorship, staff available to this attorney position with paralegal assistance as needed. This position offers lots of and almost-immediate trial and client exposure -- an opportunity to join, learn and build within our Firm. You will have your own cases on your first day. You will work with attorneys ranging from 2 years to 37 years of experience -- this position allows the successful candidate to train and learn with our other attorneys and amazing staff.
The Family Law will come with ample staff support. Successful candidate will have an assigned paralegal.
