Associate Dean of Sciences assists Dean with the management of administrative functions of the college of science. Collaborates with Dean on planning college strategic initiatives and supports on college fundraising. Being an Associate Dean of Sciences provides administrative leadership in areas of curriculum development, institutional assessment and improvement, human resource, faculty development and performance appraisals, budget and finance, and facilities planning and management. Typically requires an advanced degree. Additionally, Associate Dean of Sciences typically reports to a Dean. The Associate Dean of Sciences typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments. The Associate Dean for Graduate Medical Education reports directly to the Dean of the Chicago Medical School and Senior VP for Medical Affairs at Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science (RFUMS). He/she will work in close partnership with the other Associate Deans and RFUMS leadership to develop the vision, structures, systems, and processes which support the School and University strategic goals for graduate medical education. The Associate Dean will play a critical leadership role in the discussion/understanding of current educational and financial issues and how they affect diverse constituencies and lead them toward common objectives. He/she will provide administrative leadership for the medical school and University programs affiliation relationships. The Associate Dean is responsible for leading and/or supporting various components of strategically important initiatives including network development, clinical education, program expansion and promotion, multidisciplinary initiatives and financial analytics for the clinical affiliate relationships of the medical school and University programs.

In addition, the Associate Dean for GME is expected to perform other duties as requested by the CMS Dean.
Associate Dean for Graduate Medical Education (GME) Requirements
M.D., D.O., or equivalent degree.
Five years experience in a medical education setting, preferably in GME.
Eligible for appointment as a faculty member at the rank of associate professor or professor in an appropriate department in the Chicago Medical School.
Prior evidence of creativity in working within an established medical school community.
Evidence of scholarship (i.e. established in the academic literature) or successful personal experience in medical education.
Must achieve background check clearance.
