Associate Human Resources Director directs the human resources staff that implement and manage policies and programs that reflect the organization's mission and values, support company goals, achieve objectives, and positively engage the workforce. Maintains broad and current subject matter knowledge and expertise in federal and state employment laws to advise leadership with solutions for human resources issues and evolving organizational needs. Being an Associate Human Resources Director oversees processes and programs that support employees and company operations, including staffing, compensation, benefits, training, employee relations, safety, and compliance. Administers an HRIS or other system to facilitate processes, provide data, and report on HR activity. Additionally, Associate Human Resources Director requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Associate Human Resources Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be an Associate Human Resources Director typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience.     The Human Resources Director collaborates with the restaurant Owner/Operatorand Leadership Team to execute all scheduling, recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, and training efforts within the restaurant. The Human Resources Director specifically owns the Onboarding of new employees and ensures that all employees are equipped with the understanding and tools needed to perform duties in accordance with company policies and standards.

    Job Responsibilities

    Scheduling

    • Creating a weekly schedule utilizing the HotSchedules platform
    • Aligning the weekly schedule with labor cost and productivity goals
    • Communicating with team members when availability needs to be updated

    Recruiting

    • Leading Team Member interviews
    • Collaborating with Operator and Leadership Team in selecting candidates
    • Creating new job postings
    • Participating in recruiting events when necessary

    Onboarding

    • Sending new hires offer letters and new hire paperwork
    • Ordering and assembling all new hire uniforms, including name tags
    • Conducting Team Member Orientation class
    • Adding all new hires to payroll via HR Payroll
    • Setting all new hires up on CFA Home
    • Setting all new Team Members up on HotSchedules
    • Assigning New Hire Orientation in Pathway 2.0

    Training

    • Setting up all new hires on Pathway 2.0 during the onboarding process
    • Communicating with the Leadership Team when new Team Members are ready to be assigned Pathway material and scheduled for training

    Compliance

    • Tracking all employee truancies and attendance documentation
    • Tracking all employee Accountability Actions
    • Actively communicating employee status with restaurant leadership
    • Conducting break audits on a weekly basis

    HR Payroll

    • Adding all new Team Members to HR Payroll upon completion of Orientation
    • Terminating former employees in HR Payroll
    • Inputting pay raises and pay deductions for Team Members upon a change in employment status, promotion, performance, etc.

    Birthdays & Anniversaries

    • Celebrating all Team Member and Delivery Driver birthdays and work anniversaries
    • Maintaining inventory of birthday/anniversary cards, birthday cows, anniversary mugs, etc.

    Skills & Requirements

    The HR Director must meet the following requirements:

    • Positive attitude

    • Willingness to help the team operationally during peak hours
    • Commitment to the Mission, Vision, and Core Values of the organization
    • Good understanding of the full recruitment and onboarding process
    • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
    • Solid problem-solving and leadership abilities
    • Open availability on weekdays, some availability on weekends
    • Available to work between 35-45 hours per week

    Preferred Skills

    • Bachelor’s Degree in human resources, business administration, or a relevant field.
    • 1 year of previous work experience in scheduling, recruiting, interviewing, onboarding and/or training

    Reporting Structure

    The Human Resources Director reports directly to the restaurant Owner/Operator.
