    Summary:

    The Associate Medical Director, Medical Affairs supports the development of medical strategies and plans, translating strategies into key tactics, and executing in accordance with timelines. Collaborates internally and with alliance partner(s) to ensure strategic alignment within the program. This role requires the ability to work quickly and effectively in a highly matrixed environment inclusive of, but not limited to, interfacing with Scientific Communications, Field Medical Science Liaisons, Field Clinical Value & Outcomes, Medical Information, HEOR/Market Access, Learning and Development, Clinical Development, Regulatory, Safety, Marketing, & Sales. Additionally, engagement with external partners and healthcare providers in the community is also a core function. This position is an internal subject matter expert requiring a strong commitment to achieving medical and corporate objectives while maintaining the highest ethical, regulatory, and scientific standards.

    Principal Responsibilities:

    • Support the development and execution of product-specific, US regional medical affairs strategies
    • Provide medical leadership to internal matrix team members and interact on a regular basis to ensure execution of medical and launch plans in alignment with overall brand strategy
    • Represent Seagen and US medical affairs in alliance forums to ensure partnership excellence and alignment
    • Initiate and maintain scientific engagement with recognized subject matter experts, evaluate findings and utilize key insights to inform medical strategies and tactics
    • Collaborate with Field Medical teams to develop or enhance engagement plans that will optimize interactions with key external experts
    • Provide medical support for Congress planning and execution including review of materials, attending relevant conferences and interfacing with key stakeholders
    • Plan and execute advisory boards to collect insights from healthcare providers (physicians, nurses, nurse practitioners, pharmacists, etc.) to advance our current and future execution of medical plans
    • Provide medical expertise in the development of content for Compendia submissions, educational slides, websites, standard response letters etc. to advance internal and external understanding of disease state(s), treatment landscape, product profile, biomarkers, and other relevant topics
    • Provide medical input in Promotional Review Committees
    • In alignment with corporate policies, support sponsor-investigators in the development and execution of independent research addressing key areas of interest/unmet need
    • Engage in professional development and growth opportunities

    Qualifications:

    • Advanced degree including PharmD, PhD or MD
    • Oncology experience preferred
    • Ability to travel up to 30% of time

    The hiring pay range for this position is $169,000 to $219,000 per year based on skills, education and experience relevant to the role. Other components of total compensation include a competitive equity grant at the time of hire (with additional annual grants, and grants upon promotion when applicable), and an annual bonus.
