Academic Registrar- the people solving the problems that you did not know existed. Kirtland Community College is looking to bring on a Registrar to our Student Services team. The Registrar provides leadership and oversight for the maintenance and integrity of all academic student records. The Registrar also maintains accurate records related to the approved curriculum. The Registrar supervises all processes and systems related to registration of students and serves to provide support related to registration or the submission of grades.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Provides supervision and directions for the daily operations of the Registrar’s Office.Oversees the maintenance and security of all student records.Coordinates and assists with graduation ceremonies and certifies all student record documents related to degree completion and produces diplomasEvaluates transfer credit and generates reports.Reviews program curriculum, and serves on college committees.Process course registrations, grade changes, and graduation applications.Collaborate with other departments/divisions to carry out the philosophy of a student-centered institution.Assist with student concerns and questions regarding registration and degree completion.Work closely with Academic Affairs to ensure effective scheduling and communication of program information, including the development of the academic calendar and college catalog.Ensure compliance with all state regulations, federal laws and regulations (FERPA), and record keeping/data collection.Process course substitutions, prior learning credit, credit by exam, and academic amnesty.Responsible for end of term processing in Jenzabar.Maintains and updates articulation agreements with other post-secondary institutions.Reviews agreements for accuracy of Kirtland course information and serves as a liaison with counterparts at institutions who have articulation agreements with Kirtland.Other duties as assigned.
SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION
ATTENDANCE – Individuals in this position are expected to be generally available during the normal business hours of the college, and may occasionally be asked to vary their schedule to meet department requirements. May at times require evening and/or weekend activity and travel.WORKING CONDITIONS – Conditions are generally those of a typical office environment, requiring frequent oral communication with students and college administrators, faculty, and staff. The position must interact with students on a daily basis. The ability to enter event information and retrieve data and written communications in electronic format is essential. The ability to use phones and commuters to communicate with students via voice, text, social media, and email is essential. This position may be called upon not only to plan and direct but to participate in the performance of many of the tasks of the Title III grant, from evaluating system issues to assisting with the installation of complex software. Some visual and physical dexterity is therefore required, including the ability to perform visual identification of equipment, parts, and connections.
