Job Summary | Position Description The Harry W. Bass Jr. School of Arts, Humanities, and Technology at The University of Texas at Dallas invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Communication Studies. A PhD in Communication, Communication Studies, Technical/Professional Communication, or a closely related field is required. Candidates must have an active research agenda in digital media studies. Possible focus areas for that research might include communication and social media, media theory/media ecology, or theories of web design. Teaching responsibilities will include upper- and lower-level courses in communication studies, as well as courses within the university's core curriculum. Preferred candidates will have experience teaching introductory communication courses, public speaking, and/or technical and professional communication. The appointment commences for the fall 2025 semester. Qualifications Minimum Education and Experience: A PhD or equivalent in Communication, Communication Studies, Technical/Professional Communication, or a related discipline is required prior to employment.
