The Department of Political Science at the University of South Carolina, Columbia campus, invites applications for a 9-month, full time tenure track position at the rank of Assistant Professor to begin August 16, 2025.
Required Education And Experience
Candidates must have a PhD in political science by the start date of appointment.
Preferred Qualifications
We are interested in individuals with research and teaching interests in race and gender politics, legislative studies, and American political behavior. Additionally, individuals whose research focuses on the intersection of identity, ideology, and geography among Black representatives in Congress, ideological pressures on Black representatives, legislative agenda-setting, legislative caucuses, and bill sponsorship are particularly encouraged to apply. We seek candidates with a demonstrated record of producing peer-reviewed publications in prominent outlets.
