Collaborates and supports colleagues regarding research interests and co-curricular activities. Additionally, Asst. Professor - English typically reports to a department head.     Overview
    Mount Marty University’s English Department is seeking an Assistant Professor to teach the freshman composition course sequence as well as several courses in the major. Possible courses are Early British Literature and Shakespeare, The English Language: Grammar and Linguistics, World Literature, News Writing and possibly courses such as Adolescent Literature and Mythology. Desirable secondary interests could include African American literature, Indigenous literature, or Catholic-inspired literature. This is a two-year appointment, with the possibility for renewal into a tenure-track line.
     
    Qualifications 
    The successful candidate will have a Ph.D. in English (or English Education with a master’s in English) at the time of appointment, have teaching experience, demonstrate evidence of scholarly activity, and be committed in principle and practice to Mount Marty University’s mission. Mount Marty will also consider applications from those who are currently enrolled in a doctoral program and are ABD. The successful candidate will also be expected to engage with the department’s Great Plains Writers’ Tour as well as its student literary and arts publications.
