Seeking an experienced Massachusetts Family Law Attorney who has a lot of common sense, is well organized, has strong multitasking skills, possesses a demanding presence in the courtroom, is confident with negotiating a strong outcome for their client, and has a keen attention to detail. Should be familiar with all aspects of family law with Restraining Order and Trial experience a plus!
If you've done family law in the past, you are likely already aware of the pros and cons of the practice area, so we will skip past that and talk about our firm for a minute.
We are a fast-paced firm set up to allow our attorneys to focus on the practice of law rather than generating new clients. We have both a Supervising and a Managing Attorney as additional support to ensure cases run smoothly and nothing falls through the cracks. We have an amazing team who really does support each other.
Although we focus on family law solely at this time, we are in discussions of expanding to 1-2 other areas, so if you have experience elsewhere as well, this could be a significant benefit.
Job Responsibilities: Be the lead attorney in assigned cases where you will strategize and be responsible for all aspects of the case from beginning to end. Delegate and oversee work you assign to our paralegal staff as appropriate. Remain in regular contact with your assigned clients and explain all aspects of their case to them in plain English (we try not to use legalese whenever possible). Be empathetic to your clients showing understanding that their case is their life and covers everything important to them and that they are not just a "case" or a "number" to you.
SALARY:
Our firm offers a base salary with a very competitive incentive structure based on the number of billable hours you commit to as a minimum each year. All of our full-time Associate Attorneys are on track to earn well into six figures.
BENEFITS:
We offer a 3% 401k Match, a QSEHRA health reimbursement plan, paid time off and holidays, reimbursements or coverage for annual licensing fees, continued education, notary certifications, advanced training, etc. We have regular firm outings, participate in community engagement activities, and for those who qualify have taken an annual firm trip.
