Rehabilitation Technician
The Paramount at Somers is seeking an ambitious, enthusiastic, goal oriented and team player to join our team as a rehabilitation technician. Rehabilitation Technicians will be working one-on-one and as part of a team with rehabilitation patients in our in-patient subacute facility. Candidate will be exposed to the latest rehabilitation approaches and equipment, providing an excellent opportunity for those pursuing direct patient care and/or physical therapy, occupational therapy or speech language pathology.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Patient/Resident transportation to and from rehabilitation area Therapy set-up and breakdown Assisting therapists in providing a therapeutic and safe environment.
Maintaining equipment and working area Working as a team in setting up and preparing for group activities/therapy Able to foster a positive and encouraging working environment for staff and patients/residents
Performing clerical duties, filing, computer work, etc.
Reports directly to assigned therapists and Director of Rehabilitation.
Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent, required. Strong verbal, written communication and organizational skills, required.
Physical Demands: Must be able to lift and transfer patients to and from all surfaces a minimum of 10 times per day. Must be able to lift approximately 50-70 pounds a minimum of 10 times per day.
Must be proficient with use of hands for repetitive grasping, pushing-pulling, and fine motor manipulation. Rehab Technician will spend approximately 60-80% of time bending, stooping, kneeling, and reaching while working with therapy patients Rehab Technician may spend approximately 60-80% of time standing/walking.
Rehab Technician should be knowledgeable in and exercise good body mechanics during patient treatment.
