    Primary Purpose: To provide clerical support to the Transition Learning Center.   

    Qualifications:

    Education/Certification:

     

    • High School Diploma or GED

     

                Special Knowledge Skills:

     

    • Ability to undertake general administrative duties;
    • Know various software packages, e.g., Microsoft Office, Excel, PowerPoint;
    • The ability to develop additional instructional technology competence as required;
    • Experience working in an administrative and/or secretarial capacity;
    • Bilingual (Preferred, but not required).

     

    Experience:

     

    Major Responsibilities and Duties:

    • To provide clerical and administrative support to the Transition Learning Center and provide a consistent point of contact for all stakeholders.
    • Provide clerical and administrative support in the areas of word processing documents, reports, letters, tables, and other secretarial duties;
    • Undertake other clerical duties such as photocopying, filing, using the fax machine, data analysis sheets.
    • Assist in the creation, preparation, duplication, etc. of visual schedules, tasks, and other responsibilities associated with support for students with disabilities;
    • Maintain correspondence, communications, and files for the Transition Learning Center.  
    • Maintain confidentiality of director’s meetings with staff, other personnel, student files, and other pertinent information;
    • Book and schedule meeting places for the director and staff department;
    • Input data for database system as required;
    • Receive and forward all maintenance requests; prepare, document, and maintain maintenance request logbook;
    • Format, type, and prepare memos, letters, and reports for distribution;
    • Maintain and make simple maintenance/replacements on computers, printers, and other equipment; troubleshooting;
    • Assist with software applications on how to use; maintain computer software/licenses;
    • Handle all communication between special education staff, teachers, paraprofessionals, and administrative staff;
    • Format, type, and assist in preparing Expenditures of Funds report/supplies, materials of school allocations; File new and revised/updated policies, and maintain Policy Board notebooks;
    • Type and assist in preparing state and local budgets; Type and assist in preparing projected enrollment;
    • Translate the Spanish language orally (personally or by phone) and written (type letters, memos) to non-English speaking parents;
    • Receive and distribute mail appropriately;
    • Maintain confidentiality of students’ testing, diagnosis status, ARD paperwork, personal problems, etc.;
    • Attend and meet required district hours of staff development;
    • Hands-on work with students is required
    • Professional dress is required;
    • Assume other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Executive Director of Special Services.
