Athletic Trainer jobs in Dover, DE

Athletic Trainer treats and prevents athletic injuries by developing therapies to reduce pain and improve mobility under the direction of a physician. Assists in exercise instruction and demonstration, patient evaluation and testing. Being an Athletic Trainer may require state license to practice. Typically requires a bachelor's degree in exercise science, sports science or equivalent. Additionally, Athletic Trainer typically requires certification as a Certified Athletic Trainer. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Athletic Trainer occasionally directed in several aspects of the work.       QUALIFICATIONS:
      • Valid state license to practice as an Athletic Trainer in the State of Delaware required.
      • Bachelor’s Degree required; Masters Degree preferred.
      • CPR/AED Certification.
      • Certification requirements as established by the State Board of Education.
      • Satisfactory Child Protection Registry.
      • Must be 21 years of age.
      • Mantoux skin test/PPD documentation.
      • Cooperative Attitude.
      • Good oral and written communication and the ability to present information effectively
      • The State of Delaware requires all public school employees to undergo a criminal background check (state and federal) to determine suitability for employment.
      • Appointment is contingent upon receipt of a satisfactory criminal background check, which is the responsibility of the employee.
      • The State of Delaware requires new employees to be paid by direct deposit and to be part of a lag payroll system as conditions of employment.
      • Additional qualifications and/or alternatives as deemed necessary by the Board of Education and Administration.

      SALARY: As per State and Local Salary Schedules for FY23 based upon experience and educational degree.
