TITLE: Assistant Executive Director of Section IV Athletics
LOCATION: BOCES wide: Sidney, N.Y.
REPORTS: Executive Director of Section IV Athletics
TERMS: Full-time, 12 months
QUALIFICATIONS: Applicant must possess or be working towards New York State School
Administrator Certification. Minimum of five years’ experience in supervision and
administration of Interscholastic Athletics program. Candidate should possess
comprehensive and effective leadership skills. Ability to work collaboratively as a
member of teams, committees and groups. Excellent written and oral communications
skills. Ability to utilize technology to further Section IV goals. Travel will be required.
Flexibility to work weekends for Sectional/Regional/State events. Commitment to
promoting equity and culturally responsive practices to create inclusive environments.
RESPONSIBILITIES/
DUTIES:
Works under the general direction of the Executive Director of Section IV Athletics, duties
include: Professionally represent Section IV in its work with school districts, institutions,
agencies, community agencies and other Section offices. Administer the development
and implementation of a positive interscholastic program to meet the needs of student
athletes and member schools. Serve as a point of contact for Section IV Athletic
Administrators to ensure correct implementation of NYSPHSAA policies and procedures
in member schools and Section IV Sports Handbooks. Oversees sport coordinators and
assists with planning, implementation of Section IV events. Onboard and train new
Sports Coordinators. Provide professional learning opportunities for sports coordinators.
Attend and participate in all league meetings, meetings of the Executive Committee, the
Athletic Council, NYSPHSAA meetings and other meetings directed by the Executive
Director. Assures that sport-specific policies and procedures are effectively
communicated to assure smooth conduct of the business of the Section. Assist in
overseeing the conduct and sportsmanship of interscholastic athletic programs in
participating school districts, other duties as assigned
SALARY/BENEFITS: Salary range $80,000-$90,000, Commensurate with experience.
