Automotive Mechanic jobs in Canton, MI

Automotive Mechanic performs maintenance and repairs on automobiles and light trucks. Performs major repairs like body work, chassis and engine repair, and disassembling and assembling components. Being an Automotive Mechanic also performs minor repairs and maintenance work such as replacing worn drive belts, hoses, and filters. Helps diagnose issues, uses electronic indicator systems to identify problems, and performs routine safety checks on brakes, suspension, exhaust, cooling, and other systems. Additionally, Automotive Mechanic adheres to appropriate safety procedures. Typically requires a high school diploma. Typically requires a Certificate in Automotive Technology. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Automotive Mechanic works under moderate supervision. Gaining or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline.     • Perform work as outlined in project plan with efficiency and accuracy  
    • Provide input aligned with your experience and training
    • Track and report progress  
    • Meet delivery timing for assignments
    • Maintain clean and safe work environment
    Qualifications:
    • Prior automotive experience
    • Detail oriented, organized, and efficient  
    • Focus on Safety and Quality
    • Reliable – must report and engage as scheduled
    • Great attitude toward work and learning 
    • Mechanic tool set in roller toolbox
    Additional Experience Supporting Expanded Opportunities:
    • ASE Certification
    • Restoration and/or custom
    • Fabrication  
    • Low Voltage Wiring
    • High Voltage Training
    • High Performance Vehicles
