JOB DUTIES: SUMMARY OF TYPICAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE JOB, DIVIDED INTO “ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS” AND “ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES”.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- PROVIDE EXCELLECE IN CUSTOMER SERVICE AS OUTLINED IN THE COMPANY POLICY MANUAL.
- WORK TOGETHER WITH ALL STORE EMPLOYEES IN A TEAM LIKE FASHION TO ACHIEVE JOB DUTY RESULTS.
- MUST BE AVAILABLE TO WORK 1ST, 2ND, OR 3RD SHIFT ANY DAY OF THE WEEK.
- WORK ASSIGNED SHIFT WITHOUT OTHER PERSONNEL IN STORE.
- GIVE ALL CUSTOMERS PROMPT AND COURTEOUS SERVICE.
- STAY FAMILIAR WITH CURRENT PRICE MANUALS, PRICE CHANGES, NEWLETTERS, AND POLICY & PROCEDURE MANUAL INFORMATION.
- CHECK GASOLINE RETAIL PRICES OF COMPETITIVE LOCATIONS WITHIN THE STORES MARKET AREA, AND REPORT ANY CHANGES TO THE STORE MANAGER.
- OPERATE SHIFT WITHIN COMPANY GUIDELINES TO ACHIEVE SALES AND PROFIT GOALS.
- PREPARE A SHIFT AUDIT REPORT AT THE COMPLETION OF A SHIFT IN ACCORDANCE WITH COMPANY GUIDELINES.
- ADVISE STORE MANAGER OR DISTRICT MANAGER OF ANY PERSONNEL OR POLICY VIOLATIONS HAVING AN ADVERSE EFFECT ON STORE OPERATING PERFORMANCE.
- SHARE THE RESPONSIBILITY FOR CONTROLLING THE INVENTORY LEVEL, INVENTORY AUDIT RESULTS, AND THE CASH AUDIT RESULTS, OF THE STORE WITHIN COMPANY GUIDELINES.
- FOLLOW CORRECT VENDOR CHECK-IN PROCEDURES AS DEFINED IN THE POLICY MANUAL.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
GENERAL MANAGEMENT DUTIES INCLUDE:
- PERFORM SPECIFIC TASKS AS ASSIGNED BY THE STORE MANAGER OR ASSISTANT MANAGER THAT IS IN CHARGE OF THE SHIFT.
- OVERSEE THE STORE’S OPERATION WHEN THE STORE MANAGER IS ABSENT.
- ADHERE TO ALL CITY, COUNTY, STATE, AND FEDERAL LAWS AND REGULATIONS IN REGARDS TO ALCOHOL AND TOBACCO SALES. (DO NOT SELL TO UNDER AGE CUSTOMERS)
- MAINTAIN ACCEPTABLE AVERAGE ON CUSTOMER SERVICE SHOPPER PROGRAM.
- FOLLOW THE WORK SCHEDULE AS POSTED.
BOOKKEEPING DUTIES INCLUDE:
- PROPERLY POST ALL HOURS WORKED BY CLOCKING IN & OUT AT THE DESIGNATED SHFT TIMES.
- ASSURE PROPER SALE AND ACCOUNTING FOR ALL MONEY ORDERS AS DESCRIBED IN THE POLICY & PROCEDURE MANUAL.
- FOLLOW LOTTERY SALES GUIDELINES AND POLICIES BY THE STATE LOTTERY COMMISSION AND BY COMPANY POLICY
- PROPERLY ACCEPT ALL MANUFACTURES COUPONS FOLLOWING COMPANY AND MANUFACTURERS GUIDELINES.
SECURITY DUTIES INCLUDE:
- MAINTAIN CASH LEVELS IN REGISTERS AT OR BELOW COMPANY POLICY.
- PLACE ALL DROPS IN SAFE AS OFTEN AS NEEDED TO MAINTAIN ACCEPTABLE CASH LEVELS IN REGISTER.
- KEEP TIME DELAY SAFE IN ‘OFF’ POSITION WHEN NOT IN USE.
- COMPLETE A SHIFT AUDIT REPORT AT END OF SHIFT WITH BOTH EMPLOYEES COUNTING ALL ITEMS NECESSARY TO COMPLETE CASH AUDIT.
MERCHANDISING DUTIES INCLUDE:
- PROPERLY CLEAN AND MAINTAIN ALL HIGH TRAFFIC AREAS SUCH AS COFFEE AND FOUNTAIN BARS, RESTROOMS, ETC.
- USE CORRECT PRICING AS LISTED IN PRICE MANUALS OR ORDERBOOK FOR ALL MERCHANDISE.
MAINTENANCE DUTIES INCLUDE:
- KEEP FLOORS AND COUNTER AREAS CLEAN AT ALL TIMES.
- CHECK REFRIGERATION EQUIPMENT FOR PROPER PERFORMANCE A MINIMUM OF ONE TIME PER SHIFT.
- CLEAN WINDOWS, FLOORS, SHELVING, COUNTERS, AND GAS PUMPS TO ENSURE THEY REMAIN CLEAN AT ALL TIMES.
- IMMEDIATELY ADVISE STORE MANAGER OR DISTRICT MANAGER OF ANY MAINTENANCE PROBLEMS.
REQUIREMENTS NECESSARY FOR THE ESSENTIAL FUNCTION OF THE JOB:
- BE ABLE TO WORK ENTIRE ASSIGNED SHIFT ON YOUR FEET, BENDING, STOOPING AND MOVING ABOUT BOTH INSIDE AND OUTSIDE OF THE STORE.
- BE ABLE TO FOLLOW COMPANY DRESS CODE AND PERSONAL APPEARANCE GUIDELINES.
- BE ABLE TO READ, UNDERSTAND AND WRITE THE ENGLISH LANGUAGE.
- BE ABLE TO SPEAK & UNDERSTAND ENGLISH, INCLUDING ABILITY TO HEAR THE SPOKEN WORD.
- HAVE SUFFICIENT VISUAL ACUITY TO CHECK IDENTIFICATION ON TOBACCO AND BEER CUSTOMERS AND PROCESS MONEY ORDERS.
- BE ABLE TO READ AND UNDERSTAND INSTRUCTIONS FOR OPERATING ELECTRONIC AND COMPUTERIZED EQUIPMENT.
- BE ABLE TO LIFT UP TO 50 POUNDS CARRYING CASES OF MILK, SOFT DRINKS, BEER, AND JUICE CONTAINERS, ETC. AT LEAST ONCE PER SHIFT.
- BE ABLE TO BAG AND LIFT ICE BAGS UP TO 20 POUNDS.
- BE ABLE TO STOCK SHELVES AND COOLER SHELVES THAT ARE ABOVE THE HEIGHT OF ONE’S HEAD, AND BELOW ONE’S KNEES.
- BE ABLE TO USE A RAZOR SHARP CASE CUTTER.
- BE ABLE TO LIFT AND CARRY A GASOLINE TANK STICK MEASURING UP TO 16 FEET OR MORE.
- HAVE SUFFICIENT HEARING ACUITY TO HEAR HIGH-PITCHED SOUNDS FOR OPERATION OF GASOLINE CONSOLE AND OTHER EQUIPMENT.
- BE ABLE TO TOLERATE EXPOSURE TO GASOLINE FUEMS AND CLEANING PRODUCTS.
- BE BALE TO CLIMB A LADDER TO CHANGE SIGNS AND WASH WINDOWS.
- BE ABLE TO SWEEP AND MOP FLOORS AS MANY TIMES AS NEEDED TO MAINTAIN THE GENERAL APPEARANCE OF THE STORE.
- BE ABLE TO DUST SHELVES, LIFT AND CARRY TRASH CONTAINERS.
- BE ABLE TO CLEAN THE PARKING LOT AND GROUNDS AROUND THE STORE.
- BE BALE TO WORK OUTSIDE IN HOT, WET AND COLD CONDITIONS.
- BE ABLE TO ENTER AND WORK IN A WALK-IN COOLER AT A TEMPERATURE AT 40 DEGREES FARENHEIGHT OR LESS FOR UP TO 15 MINUTES.
- BE ABLE TO WORK AROUND A MICROWAVE OVEN IN USE.
ACCOUNTABILITIES: THE END RESULTS OF THE JOBE SHOULD ACHIEVE:
- EACH FIESTA MART EMPLOYEE IS TO PERFORM THEIR JOB IN A MANNER THAT EFFECTIVELY MAINTAINS THE STORE’S PHYSICAL APPEARANCE AND ITS OPEATION AS OUTLINED IN THE COMPANY POLICY & PROCEDURE MANUAL AS WELL AS OUTLIINED IN ANY OTHER POLICY DOCUMENT.
- ALL PERSONNEL ASSIGNED TO A STORE ARE RESPONSIBLE TO THE STORE MANAGER OF THAT STORE.
- EMPLOYEES WORKING A SHIFT WITH AN ASSISTANT STORE MANAGER THAT IS IN CHARGE OF THE SHIFT ARE RESPONSIBLE TO THAT ASSISTANT STORE MANAGER.
- THE STORE MANAGER IS RESPONSIBLE TO THE DISTRICT MANAGER OF THAT STORE.
- ALL PERSONNEL ASSIGNED TO A STORE WORK TOGETHER, EACH DOING A FAIR SHARE OF THE WORK WITH THE COMMON GOAL OF MEETING THE STANDARDS OF OPERATIONS AS OUTLINED IN THE COMPANY POLICY & PROCEDURES MANUAL.
