Located in the beautiful mountains of Southeastern Kentucky, the Eastern Kentucky Veterans Center (EKVC) is a 120 bed long-term care facility providing skilled nursing care and rehabilitation for Kentucky veterans.
EKVC is operated by the Kentucky Department of Veterans Affairs and was built for the sole purpose of taking care of Kentucky Veterans.
The Eastern Kentucky Veterans Center is looking for a self- motivated, energetic Mechanical Maintenance and Operations Technician III who possesses the skills, knowledge, and desire to be a part of our team.
Expectations for this position include but are not limited to:
- Plans directs and supervises the work of the Maintenance and Operations Section; and performs other duties as required.
- Inspects, checks the work of employees performing Mechanical Maintenance, HVAC and Electrical work.
- Supervises and assists in special installations, inspections or repairs of mechanical equipment.
- Recommends improvements in Maintenance and Operating Techniques.
- Performs the work of Maintenance and Operations Employees if required, especially in the area of HVAC and Electrical.
- Maintains adequate Inventory levels of Maintenance parts and filters.
- Consults with management and provides advice concerning operations.

This job requires mandatory COVID 19 vaccination or an approved exemption in accordance with CMS-3415-IFC from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services. This means if appointed to the position, the applicant must have completed the primary vaccination series for COVID-19, which means the administration of a single-dose vaccine or the administration of all required doses of a multi-dose vaccine upon commencement of employment. The vaccine received must be one of the FDA-approved or FDA-authorized vaccines. Proof of vaccination will be required.
