Job Summary:

Cup of Swords Tavern is a renaissance themed bar in Olympia, WA. We are looking for enthusiastic and responsible barkeeps to join us in the fun while serving patrons, creating a comfortable, safe and entertaining atmosphere, and hosting various types of events. Our friendly and welcoming staff wear renaissance period and medieval fantasy themed attire and assist in providing an immersive experience.

Minimum Shift Availability: Closing 8:00pm - 1am Tuesday through Saturday (25 hours/week). This position comes with the opportunity to add more shifts and hours.

Responsibilities:

- Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages including beer, wine, mead, cider, and seltzer

- Interact with customers, take orders, and provide recommendations when necessary

- Maintain cleanliness of the bar area, including washing glassware

- Check customers' identification to ensure they meet the legal drinking age

- Handle cash and credit transactions accurately

- Monitor inventory levels and restock bar supplies as needed

- The ability to lift 50lbs, stand, bend, and walk for 5-8 hour shifts

- Opening and closing procedures

- Prevent overservice

Experience:

- Proven experience as a bartender or server

- Preparing and serving drinks

- Communication and customer service

- Point of Sale use and cash handling

Qualifications

• Strong communication skills
• Previous experience in bartending or serving
• Excellent customer service abilities
• Knowledge of pouring and serving a variety of drinks
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Washington State MAST Certification Class 12 mixology permit

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $16.50 - $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 16 – 26 per week
