Description
This is a unique and exciting opportunity to join the team as a Bellman & Valet at the #1 Hotel in Los Angeles, as voted by Travel and Leisure: Oceana in Santa Monica, CA. This oceanfront, all-suite hotel reopened in July 2019 after undergoing a $35 Million complete transformation, and we are now seeking motivated, enthusiastic professionals to become integral members of our team.
As a Bellman and valet for the Hotel Oceana Santa Monica, you will assist guests, primarily with parking, retrieving their vehicle and assisting with luggage and transportation. Over the next few weeks, we will schedule in-person and digital interviews for qualified candidates.
Apply today! Then check your phone and email messages often for a message about scheduling a short phone interview.
The How…
Your focus is on ensuring our guests feel welcome, acknowledging each of them when they arrive or depart, helping with luggage and moving luggage about the hotel, placing it in their room and preparing the room for immediate occupancy by turning on lights, opening drapes and discussing room features and hotel safety information with the guest, including explaining internet access and room service policies.
As a responsible and careful driver, you offer professional valet services, park guests’ vehicles in the hotel’s predetermined parking facilities, obey all traffic laws, and focus on operating these vehicles responsibly. At times, you may also direct hotel traffic and assist guests with entering and leaving the parking facility.
Your tremendous patience when assisting guests and desire to accommodate their every need with enthusiasm and poise is perfect when engaging with guests while working around the property. You can answer guests’ questions and direct them about the hotel as needed, including assisting them with calling taxis, holding pet leashes, or even storing luggage for checking in early or checking out late.
While prior experience as a bellman is helpful for your success, it’s not necessary. We will show you how to maintain the hotel’s high service standards.
The Details…
You will work a full-time hospitality schedule defined by operational needs, including weekends and holidays.
Willing to conform to hotel dress and grooming standards, which include wearing the hotel-issued uniform, no visible tattoos while wearing a uniform, no unnatural hair colors, no piercings other than one pair of earrings, and neatly groomed facial hair.
We offer many benefits to meet your needs, including medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance options. The company provides auto-enrollment in its 401(k) plan after 60 days of employment. New employees accrue 40 hours of vacation in the first year and earn 72 hours of paid sick leave per year. Eligible employees also receive holiday pay (if working) or paid holidays (if scheduled off) for six yearly holidays*.
After you apply, please listen to voicemails, answer calls from unknown numbers, and check emails for a message from us regarding the next step.
