What you will do as a Machine Operator:

• Inspect, upend, and load coils onto the unwinder and feed coils through lubricator and into press
• Set-up maintenance and operation of the upender, unwinder, lubricator, and cupping press
• Set-up maintenance and operation of the body makers, trimmers, and conveying systems
• Inspect and monitor, then put the can specifications into the computer (flange wall thickness - mid-wall thickness - dome depth - trim can height)
• Perform visual checks and cup weights to ensure that process is in compliance
• Complete required paperwork and documentation such as coil log, check sheets, etc.
• Maintain cleanliness of all work areas and machines and practice proper safety procedures

What you need to be a Machine Operator:

• High School Diploma or GED preferred
• Advanced mechanical skills (including working knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics) and ability to use precision measuring devices (calipers, micrometers, dial indicators, etc.)
• Thorough knowledge and understanding of manufacturing process, equipment, and quality specifications
• Demonstrated involvement in safety and knowledge of safety regulations which apply to work functions
• Basic knowledge of computer systems, gauges, tools, and equipment #NEjobhunt
• Ability to safely operate production forklift
