Job Summary:
The Food and Beverage Floor Supervisor at Ocean Place Resort & Spa in Long Branch, New Jersey is a full-time, hourly management position in the hospitality/restaurant industry. This role is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our food and beverage team to ensure exceptional customer service and smooth functioning of our restaurant and bar areas. The ideal candidate will have previous experience in a similar role, strong leadership skills, and a passion for providing an excellent dining experience to our guests.
Compensation & Benefits:
This position offers a competitive hourly rate of $18 to $22 per hour, paid biweekly. In addition, the candidate will have access to benefits such as medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401k, and paid time off.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise and direct the food and beverage team on the floor, ensuring all staff adhere to company policies and procedures
- Train and onboard new team members, providing guidance and support throughout their training period
- Monitor and maintain cleanliness and safety standards in all food and beverage areas
- Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to ensure timely and accurate service to guests
- Act as a liaison between guests and management, handling any complaints or concerns that may arise in a professional and efficient manner
- Conduct regular inventory and assist with ordering and receiving supplies
- Create and maintain shift schedules, ensuring adequate coverage for all shifts
- Oversee cash handling and reporting procedures for all food and beverage sales
- Collaborate with the executive chef and restaurant manager on menu planning and promotional activities
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety standards and regulations
Requirements:
- Minimum of 2 years experience in a supervisory role in the food and beverage industry
- Knowledge of food and beverage operations, including service techniques, menu presentation, and sanitation standards
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask effectively
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods of time
- Knowledge of Point of Sale systems and experience with cash handling
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations and procedures
- High School diploma or equivalent, with a degree in hospitality or a related field preferred.
