Position: Team Member/Bike Mechanic

Location: DreamBikes- Madison

Schedule: 20-35hrs./week Monday-Saturday (Flexible)

Pay Rate: $16-$18/hr. starting

About DreamBikes

DreamBikes is a non-profit, 501(c)3 organization that provides hands-on, paid job training to teens. Working in conjunction with local youth organizations, DreamBikes employs teens from the area to work in the store; teaching them how to refurbish bicycles, use the POS software, and to deliver great customer service. DreamBikes provides lifelong skills to our teen employees, helping them to shift gears and find a bright future. We also host and participate in many community events such as group rides, free mobile repair, and educational clinics.

About the Role:

DreamBikes Madison is seeking a flexible and open minded part-time team member skilled in bicycle service and/or bicycle sales.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Deliver professional, accessible, and helpful service to a diverse customer base

• Assist with training teens in customer service and bicycle repair

• Size customers and assist them in choosing a bicycle and related parts and accessories

• Assist in the shop’s daily operations including inventory management, restocking, cleaning, organizing and merchandising

• Cash handling and processing customer transactions using a cash register and Ascend POS (point of sale) software

• Build and maintain relationships with customers

• Share DreamBikes mission and programs with customers

• Assist with social media posts on Facebook & Instagram in taking photos and creating engaging content

• Assist in off-site outreach events in the community and assist with bike donation pickups

• Performs all duties as directed by Management.

• Availability to work a flexible schedule based on business needs potentially including evenings and weekends

• Capable of safely lifting and carrying 40 pounds up and down stairs on a regular basis
