Valley Children's Clinic has been established since 1949 and is the pediatric clinic south of San Antonio with a Board Certified Pediatrician! We have an immediate opening for a medical billing clerk.

Your duties will include but not limited to:

• Assist Provider as requested.
• Disperse mail to the proper location.
• Post R&S, correct rejections; and complete within 24-48 hours of receipt.
• Post or correct EOP’s from insurance companies, call to check claim status, patient eligibility, and responsibility, and bill the patient if appropriate. If the patient has a second insurance, make a copy of the EOP and bill the second insurance. Correct denials received and resolve them within 2 days of receipt.
• Send out insurance claim forms.
• Every 30 days, check tickets to see if they are paid, and if not, then re-bill making appropriate corrections if needed.
• Complete the close each month and store necessary documents in the proper area. This includes but is not limited to daily logs, sign-in sheets, superbills, and private pay information.
• Update information on patient accounts as needed.
• Scan and attach all documents and EOP’s to the appropriate chart in a timely manner.
• Answer phone calls regarding account balances and billing questions as needed.
• Regularly contact patients who have outstanding accounts.
• Post daily procedures and payments.
• Send out correspondence to insurance companies as needed.
• Make ready the daily deposit as needed.
• Maintain a tracking system to monitor the printing out of EFT payments by insurance.
• Prepare refund request.
• Keep up to date with current billing and insurance requirements.
• Assist in collecting of NSF checks.
• Print and work with aging reports as needed.
• Maintain a tracking system to monitor the payment of all outstanding patient accounts.
• Prepare accounts to be sent to collections when appropriate.
• Meet regularly to review reports
• Train new employees as needed.
• Assist with and follow any outside regulatory agency rules and regulations like OSHA, Meaningful use, HITECH & HIPAA.
• Ability to lift at a minimum fifteen (15) pounds. Moving, lifting or transferring up to 20 pounds.
• The employee is frequently required to walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach forward with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit and stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 15 pounds and occasionally lift or move 20 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
• Stand for extended periods of time. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, talk or hear on a regular basis.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $13.00 - $17.00 per hour
