Job Description

Bessel is seeking talented and driven candidates for paid internships in El Paso, Texas. The internship program is designed to be an introduction to the world of medical device development, expose interns to current projects for operating companies allowing them to make an impact on those projects, and to hone interns’ general workplace skills in a structured environment via the Bessel Origin Program.

This is a 6- to 8-week internship program, consisting of a 20-40 hour per week commitment. About 80% of the time will be spent working on real-world engineering and marketing projects with professional teams bringing products to market. The remainder of interns’ time will be spent developing tools and skills transferable to any career by participating in the Bessel Origin workshops.

• Assist with device design, prototype build, and test.
• Develop machine learning algorithms for object detection, classification, and pose estimation.
• Develop UI/UX and mobile healthtech applications.
• Under direction from other engineering professionals, execute verification testing.and benchtop performance testing and perform other tasks related to medical device Design Controls.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience required
• Recent graduates are strongly encouraged to apply
• Military veterans are strongly encouraged to apply
• Ideal interns have completed relevant coursework.
• Candidates with experience in other engineering fields with an interest in Marketing and Communications are encouraged to apply.
