GENERAL FUNCTION – State the intent and objective of the position.
The Reliability Engineering Supervisor is responsible for leading a team of highly skilled technicians and Maintenance Lead to be safety leaders in the plant and to achieve world-class mechanical uptime on a wide variety of equipment: injection molding machines, industrial robots, auxiliary equipment; plant utility service equipment and is responsible for facilities management. Working with the Technical Manager, Supply Chain Manager and Production Manager develops and manages predictive and preventative tools and processes to demonstrate continuous improvement in plant equipment reliability. Collaborates with the Reliability and Stockroom Coordinator to design and execute preventative action plans and wear part programs to move from a “run to failure” mindset to a predictive program which improve mechanical uptime to world class levels, ensuring that the plant improves cost per unit performance, and achieves safety, quality, service and cost targets.
This position is multi-faceted with hands-on engineering responsibility for a broad scope of plant projects; providing support to all operations, maintenance and other support departments. Under the direction of the Technical Manager, designs and implements solutions and manages projects that support the plant in attaining safety, quality, service and cost goals. Conducts tests and experiments to set specifications, develop procedures and training for the use of equipment, automation or other engineered solutions. Will lead project teams focused on continuous improvement in a number of areas – material changes, production efficiency, quality or general construction. Utilizes technology and systems for design, coordinates equipment selection and manages external contractors. The Reliabilty Engineering Supervisor is the primary responsible person for supporting EHS, Risk Prevention and Business Continuity Planning for the plant and is responsible for the strong compliance of Environmental requirements as outlined by federal, state agencies, along with the company-wide group standards.

60% Maintenance leadership
Create and implement a reliability strategy within Maintenance department. Develop multi year plans to improve mechanical reliability to world class levels (95%) Leads the Maintenance Team in developing self- planning and execution process of daily, weekly and monthly PM’s and work orders; ensuring proper prioritization, human resource and physical asset utilization. Is the plant subject matter expert in regards to predictive maintenance methodologies .Work with maintenance team to develop strategies for improving equipment services to reduce overall time to perform equipment services. Partners with other STECO team members in order to develop plant preventative maintenance strategy that multiple departments can help perform in order to accomplish the work that needs completed. Works with Plant Maintenance Department and Engineering Group to develop predictive maintenance strategies to improve uptime with plant
equipment, and build redundancy in critical areas. Coaches and leads a metrics based culture that drives Uptime KPI as well as departmental OPI focus on mean time between failures, safety work order time to completion, PM compliance, stockroom inventory accuracy.

Safety and Environmental Leadership- Develops and cultivates a “working safely” culture throughout the plant. Has direct ownership and responsibility for at least 2 SGC Health or Safety Standards - designs, controls and finds remedies to environmental, waste and health issues. Investigates, determines corrective action and implements plans to prevent unsafe environmental acts or conditions or resource waste. Supports plant efforts to continuously engage employees to drive environmental & recycle programs. Is an ISO or compliance auditor, performs environmental audits, accident/spill investigations, completes required paperwork, and performs necessary follow-up as required? Completes Contractor behavior based audits during equipment installations. Continues to foster Environmental creative mindset to help plant achieve 2025 Sustainability Goals. Develops and implements engineering solutions to reduce risks and hazards to support the plant preventative safety programs. |

Engineering Project Management and implementation Collaberate with R&D and Engineering for the identification, testing and implementation of automation, methods, equipment and production methods to improve quality, efficiency or effectiveness in products or manufacturing processes. Trouble shoots and resolves automation and mechanical issues, establishing machine standards. Designs and executes testing protocols and controls to effectively test equipment and methods. Understands technical specifications and translates into workable implementation and control plans. Develops, coordinates, and manages project hand off to responsible departments for engineering projects. Aids and assists with training in order to help departments become accustomed to new equipment. Prepares hand off documentation to appropriate departments in order to establish equipment manuals, spare parts, and service agreements. Aids in training others within engineering department as well as other departments with project management routine functions: Preparing Scope of Work, requests for quotations, equipment specifications for maintenance of business projects. |

Is able to work independently to research, identify, recommend, test and implement engineered improvement solutions that have a significant impact on the effectiveness and financial performance of the facility. Keeps current in all technical areas, seeking out certifications or continuing education credits to create on-going business improvements. Leads short term and understands long range planning and utilizes this to develop and implement business continuity and capital management plans. Is a good trainer and leader – using persuasive arguments to engage employees and management in the practices that are safe and ensure compliance with company standards, Federal and state regulatory agencies. Is able to proactively and positively represent the facility and company during agency or other technical inspections.
· Bachelor Degree in Engineering – mechanical, industrial, automation preferred
· 4-6 years of work experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment
