For Hire – Boilermaker Foreman for South Louisiana area
Estes Industrial, LLC is looking for experienced Boilermaker Foremen. This position is based in Jeanerette, LA, but projects are located throughout South Louisiana within an 80-mile radius.
The primary role of the Boilermaker Foreman is to manage a crew in the new construction, repair, maintenance, and demolition of boilers, tanks, vats, pressure vessels, exchangers, and heaters primarily in the Sugar Mill Industry.
Technical Proficiency:
· Experienced and capable of performing all aspects of the construction, maintenance, or repair of boilers and other vessels as the project requires. This includes inspection, fabrication, modification, and assembly.
· The ability to read and interpret technical information related to each project, including plans, specs, and drawings.
· Competent in the location and isolation of mechanical problems, then identifying and executing the appropriate corrective actions.
· Experienced with layout fit and measurement verification for sheet metal work of 13 gauge or heavier metal.
· Experienced in making quick and accurate visual inspections at all distances. (not sure what this means)
Operational Competency:
· The ability to work with all types of metal-working tools, including, but not limited to, roll motors and expanders, bench lathes, air-powered impact wrenches, power tools, hand tools, acetylene torches, and welding machines.
· Necessary skills include steel and steel alloyfabrication, welding, operation of overhead hoist and jacks, and heavy equipment operation.
· Demonstrate proficiency in welding techniques to include SMAW, MIG, and TIG. These skills are necessary for all types of metal, including iron, steel, stainless steel.
Physical Requirements:
These projects operate in physically demanding environments. The candidate must be able to:
· lift objects up to 25 pounds or more.
· frequently bend, stoop, or kneel.
· safely walk and maintain balance on uneven surfaces.
· frequently walk, climb, and maintain balance on ladders, stairs, scaffolding, and equipment.
· work at heights of 12 feet or more; work in confined spaces; and
· work in and around large equipment.
