Bookkeeper Job Description

As a Bookkeeper, you will assist in managing our day-to-day accounting and finance requirements. This will require excellent organizational skills and accuracy, as well as good customer relations and the ability to communicate clearly. You will need to be a skilled multi-tasker, reliable and committed to consistently meeting deadlines. You must be able to keep company matters strictly confidential, and demonstrate excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.

Job Duties:

• Develop a system to account for financial transactions by establishing a chart of accounts; and defining bookkeeping policies and procedures.
• Maintain subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, and posting transactions.
• Balance subsidiary accounts by reconciling entries.
• Balance general ledger by preparing a trial balance; reconciling entries.
• Prepare financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends.
• Comply with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying requirements; enforcing adherence to requirements; filing reports; and advising management on needed actions.
• Contribute to team effort by accomplishing assigned tasks as needed.
• Essential Job Functions:
• Input, schedule, investigate and track company’s accounts receivables and accounts payable.
• Maintain job costing reports for individual customers and jobs.
• Communicate (both in verbal and written form) with customers, suppliers, vendors, and banking contacts.
• Coordinate documentation and payments between the company, its customers and their insurance companies.
• Keep track of company assets.
• Prepare appropriate schedules and reports as requested by company managers and owners.
• Deposit accounts receivables into company bank accounts.
• Input and process company payroll.
• Assist company’s accountant on preparation of financial statements and tax returns.
• Become familiar with Xactimate job estimating software, and DASH our CRM software.
• Perform other duties as assigned from time to time by management.
• Experience with Quickbooks is a must.

Pay is D.O.E
