Job Summary:
We are seeking a Skilled Bookkeeper to join our team. As a Bookkeeper, you will be responsible for maintaining financial records, performing general ledger accounting, and assisting with budgeting. The ideal candidate will have experience in accounts receivable, public accounting, and experience using Quickbooks (Online and Desktop).
Key Responsibilities:
- Record Financial Transactions:
- Enter and categorize financial transactions into accounting software or ledgers.
- Maintain accurate records of income, expenses, assets, and liabilities.
- Ensure all transactions are properly documented and classified.
- Reconciliation:
- Reconcile bank statements, credit card statements, and other financial accounts.
- Identify discrepancies and resolve them in a timely manner.
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records.
- Accounts Payable and Receivable:
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions.
- Manage invoices, payments, and receipts.
- Follow up on outstanding payments and resolve billing issues.
- Financial Reporting:
- Prepare financial reports, income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
- Generate financial statements on a regular basis for management review.
- Provide insights into financial performance and trends.
- Payroll Processing:
- Calculate and process payroll accurately and on time.
- Ensure compliance with tax regulations and reporting requirements.
- Handle employee inquiries related to payroll and benefits.
- Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations and standards.
- Stay updated on changes in accounting principles and regulations.
- Assist with audits and provide necessary documentation.
- Financial Analysis:
- Assist in financial analysis and forecasting.
- Provide support for budgeting and planning processes.
- Identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
- Communication and Collaboration:
- Coordinate with other departments or external stakeholders as needed.
- Communicate financial information effectively to management or clients.
- Collaborate with accountants or financial advisors to ensure accurate and timely reporting.
- File ST-1's, 941's
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field preferred.
- Proven experience as a bookkeeper or in a similar role.
- Proficiency in accounting software.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Familiarity with relevant tax laws and regulations is a plus.
