Bookstore Director - Higher Ed. directs and oversees all activities related to the operation of a university/college bookstore. Purchases new books, coordinates the sale of used books, orders new inventory as needed. Being a Bookstore Director - Higher Ed. ensures that the textbook inventory is aligned with the needs and class schedule of the students. Hires, trains, and supervises employees. Additionally, Bookstore Director - Higher Ed. prepares and manages the staff work schedule so that the store is adequately staffed. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a senior institutional officer. The Bookstore Director - Higher Ed. manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. Extensive knowledge of department processes. To be a Bookstore Director - Higher Ed. typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 to 3 years supervisory experience may be required.   • Camp Pack Forest in Warrensburg, NY is looking for a Health Director for this summer! Camp Pack Forest is one of four overnight environmental education summer camp run by the NYS Department of Environmental Conservation. Camp Health Directors are responsible for the health and wellbeing of 15 staff and 50 campers on a 24-hour basis.

    This is a unique opportunity to work at a rustic and beautiful summer camp in the Southern Adirondacks. Our popular and engaging programs draw 11–17-year-old youth from across NYS for life changing experiences in the outdoors. The camp season runs from June 3 through August 116th and the work week is from Sunday afternoon through Friday afternoon.

    Camp Health Directors earn $24.11/hour for 40 hours a week ($10,925 for the 11 week season), plus room and board. The Health Director must be a NYS certified EMT, Paramedic, LPN, RN, PA or MD. This is a state position and staff have the option to join the PEF union (which offers tuition reimbursement) and the NYS retirement fund. For the right candidate, this can be a reoccurring summer position for several years.

    Requirements:

    • Physician , nurse practitioner , physician assistant , registered nurse , licensed practical nurse , emergency medical technician or other person acceptable to the Department of Health permit-issuing official. ( To practice in New York State, must be NYS licensed.)
    • CPR/AED certification acceptable to the Department of Health & in its first year of certification.
    • Must have and maintain a valid Driver's license.

    Specific duties include, but not limited to:

    • Distributes and monitors campers medications;
    • Maintains records of all medications, injuries, accidents as required by the Department of Health
    • Monitors camps living quarters for health and safety concerns
    • Works with Camp Director to transport campers as needed to and from local urgent care, emergency rooms, doctor offices and field trip locations.
    • Meets camper's parents/guardians during camper check-in to review medical forms
    • Maintains camp's lost and found, camp's supply of bedding, towels and extra camper clothing
    • Assists Camp Director with camper homesickness and evaluation of camper's ability to stay at camp when issues arise such as homesickness, inability to follow rules and medication complications
    • Maintains camp infirmary, monitors environmental and individual's health (staff and campers) and prepares accident and illness reports; and
    • On call 24/7 while camp is in session to accompany sick or injured campers to the hospital or urgent care.
