Position : Brand Protection Specialist

Department : Legal Team

Work Location : El Paso, TX or Dallas, TX, Hybrid (work 3 days onsite)

Hybrid Schedule : Helen of Troy associates enjoy the advantages and flexibility of a hybrid working model, allowing for in-office 3 days minimum, and remote 2 days.

Any changes to this working model will be communicated accordingly.

What you will be doing :

The Brand Protection Specialist will help implement an effective brand protection strategy for all Helen of Troy brands.

The successful candidate will work within the legal department and work closely with other cross-functional business teams to identify and mitigate risks to the brand’s reputation and ensure that the company’s intellectual property assets are enforced.

In partnership with the Senior Assistant General Counsel - Intellectual Property & Brand Protection, the Brand Protection Specialist will help execute the company’s brand enforcement strategies and initiatives.

• Monitor and identify instances of brand misuse and infringement risk, including counterfeit products, trademark infringement, and online IP violations such as counterfeit domains, global marketplaces, and infringing social media pages.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams, including business teams, licensors, licensees, and vendors, to ensure brand protection is incorporated into all aspects of the company.
• Prepare Cease and Desist letters and actions such as UDRPs, with help from the wider team as appropriate.
• Record worldwide trademarks with appropriate customs authorities.
• Create reports that highlight regional statistics, key trends, and work streams to key internal stakeholders regularly.
• Develop and deliver brand protection training to employees and stakeholders, private investigative groups, local law enforcement, and customs agencies on counterfeit identification and control.
• Other brand protection and intellectual property tasks may be assigned from time to time.

Minimum Qualifications :

• Bachelor’s Degree.
• 2 years’ experience in intellectual property.
• Solid experience with Microsoft Suite : Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams
• Authorized to work in the United States full-time.

Preferred Qualifications :

Consumer goods experience
